Monica Taylor

Monica Taylor is known to many as The Cimarron Songbird- the name given her by the late Bob Childers and Jimmy Lafave because her unique singing style and close proximity to the Cimarron river near Perkins, OK. She has recorded with both of the Oklahoma songwriters and many others in her Red Dirt musical family over the last 25 years or so. She began performing at Woody Fest with her writing partner, Patrick Williams as The Farm Couple duo at the second festival. She performs with a bluegrass band called Red Routes, The Cherokee Maidens & Sycamore Swing, with Travis Fite and Jared Tyler, and Monica and Her Red Dirt Ramblers. She has performed with among others Garrison Keillor and his APHC radio show, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Sam Baker, Keith Carradine, Ellis Paul, and Tom Skinner.
