Celebrating the Life & legacy of Woody Guthrie

The Woody Guthrie Folk Festival is held annually in mid-July to commemorate the life & music of Woody Guthrie. The festival is held on the weekend closest to July 14 – the date of Guthrie’s birth – in Guthrie’s hometown of Okemah, Oklahoma.

The Woody Guthrie Coalition, a not-for-profit, 501(C) 3 organization, is dedicated to preserving and promoting the legacy & music of Woodrow Wilson Guthrie through the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival as well as year-round cultural, musical, educational, & scholarly community outreach events that relate to Woody Guthrie & folk music.
