
Knut Roppestad

Knut Roppestad is born and raised in Horten, Norway but he also have close ties to Oklahoma. This will be his fifth appearance at Woodyfest. He has also played the “From Dusk To Dawn Blues Festival” in Rentiesville, OK with his blues band Muskogee Hotel a number of times.Knut’s music is all about storytelling – portaying images, lifes and pictures in a mix of folk, country, blues and rock. His latest album “War Horse” was released in October of 22 to critical aclaim – a seasoned man and artist’s take on a life lived and still worth exploring.
In 2022 he also released an album with Muskogee Hotel named “No. 2”.
Knut says:
“War Horse”, is part two of my homage to the music I grew up with and that shaped my musicial interest and identity in the 70ties. Muskogee Hotel’s album “No. 2” is dedicated to heavy eclectic bluesrock, while “War Horse” is a singer- songwriter album with a production inspired by the sounscape from early 70ties.
In 2019 Knut released an album named “Drive” featuring Kinsey Rose from Nashville among other things known for her appearance at The Voice in the US in 2021.
