Nancy Apple
July 13 @ 3:00 pm - 3:50 pm

Nancy Apple has that special something that you really can’t define. A combination of humbleness and hotshot, honesty and hyperbole… sinner and saint.
She sings and writes songs… plays guitar, drums, accordion and harmonica. She’s a back up singer. She runs her own independent record label, manages her own career, books herself, designs her own posters and album covers and works her own promotions. Former professor of songwriting at the University of Memphis, Nancy has been a singing tour guide, has appeared as an extra in movies and television, has had her own PBS special and has also worked behind the scenes for film and television, most recently NBCs Young Rock.
Over the years she has worked many a side hustle. Animal wrangler, roadie, weed puller, pressure washer queen and deck stainer, writer, farmer; whatever came along that sounded like it could work into a song.
Nancy Apple links the spirit of Sun with the soul Stax. Throw in a lot of dirt and gravel roads, open skies and thunder. Twist that up with asphalt, broke down cars and the sweat of Delta cotton farmers. Now roll that all around in a sweet melody and some of the saddest words you ever heard and put that in a jar with lightning’ bugs. There you go. What you see is what you get.
