Born in Okemah, Oklahoma, Evan Felker is the principal songwriter and singer of the Turnpike Troubadours. His writing is characterized by vivid narratives and authentic portrayals of rural life, often reflections of his own experiences and others in central and southeastern Oklahoma.
Throughout his time leading the Turnpike Troubadours, he has gone from growing roots in the Red Dirt and Country venues of Oklahoma and Texas, to becoming a regular performer at shows like the Newport Folk Festival, Red Rocks, Outlaw Music Festival, The Ryman, and, most recently, co-headlining The Boys from Oklahoma in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The Band had the privilege of headlining the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival in both 2017 and 2018.
He and the Troubadours recently released The Price of Admission, which will begin touring in the summer. This will be the first time Evan has played The Woody Guthrie Folk Festival as a solo artist.
